Nine Popes 1996 Charles Melton

Nine Popes 1996 Charles Melton

This is an australian wine with 14,5 alcoholic degrees. The 1998 one costs 50 EUR in Lavinia.
It's a great wine, but not as great as 50 EUR! it has a very nice parfume that returns after drinkng it (nice post-taste) but it also has an acidity excess and lack of body.

According to Robert Parker (wine advocat): "The 1996 Nine Popes, a satirically named wine that pokes fun at France's Chateauneuf du Pape, is made from dry-farmed vineyards, ranging in age from 30-130 years, planted with Grenache, Shiraz, and Mourvedre. The deep ruby/purple-colored 1996 is a blend of 68% Grenache, 30% Shiraz, and 2% Mourvedre. This big wine (14.5% alcohol) should offer immensely pleasing and mouthfilling drinking for a decade or more. It offers a knock-out nose of black fruits intermixed with new saddle leather, spice, and earth. Expressive, with gobs of fruit, this intense, chewy, yet impeccably balanced and pure wine is a thrill to drink. Think of it as Australia's Chateauneuf du Pape, but fruitier."

I have not enjoyed this Txakoli. Bad smell (humidity) and strange taste (extremely dry, quite acide). it is from 2008 thus, it should be in good conditions.

Groc 2007

Groc 2007 Verdejo

Theoretically it is 100% verdejo, but the classical verdejo taste seems quite hidden. Nevertheless, it is pleasant to drink.

Moscatel de la Marina 2008 Enrique Mendoza

Moscatel de la Marina, Enrique Mendoza

This is an outstanding muscat made in Alicante. Nothing to do with the classical muscat wines. It is closer to the french muscat de rivesaltes, although this was is less"floral" and more "herbaceal"/ "fruity". It has a nice "cristal" texture, while muscat the rivesaltes is more "unctuous".
This similitude with mucat de Rivesaltes is not strange, because they add alcohol in order to stop the fermentation, which is similar to the arnau de vilanova method used in Rivesaltes.
Worth to taste it. I paid 7,18 EUR at Tesi-Mascarell.

Hnos. Lurton Blanco Rueda verdejo 2008

Hermanos Lurton Blanco Rueda Verdejo 2008

This is a good quality/price verdejo wine. I paid 5,63 EUR in Tesi-Mascarell. This one is much better than Martivilli. Much more tasty. I think that I prefer Domine, but this one is cheaper.

Lindt Excellence 90% Cacao

Lindt Excellence 90% Cacao

For me the best one is the 85% cacao. it is surprisig that this small percentage variation produces such a lot difference on the final result...
