It is usually true that 100% verdejo is much better (and expensive) than blended (verdejo & Viura) Rueda white wine. Nevertheless, in this case, we have an outstanding exception. This is not a surprise considering that Cuevas de Castilla (the producer of Colagón), Palacio de Bornos and Bodegas Toresanas (the producer of the outstanding AMANT and OROT) belong to the same group.
Its price is 3,55 in La fuente.

In my opinion this is a very good quality/price ratio wine. Plenty of texture and taste. It will fill up your whole mouth. I found the cheapest price for this wine (below 8 EUR) in El corte ingles. At this moment, they even have a special offer: 7,25 EUR.

The Latin name of this wine evokes a typical Mediterranean home: a house entrance porch in the style of Roman temples. The name of the grape variety Merlot comes from the Latin word (merulus) for the blackbirds that fly over these vines, searching for the sweet taste of the ripe grapes.

Tasting Notes: Attractive dark cherry colour. Generous and intense varietal aroma, with hints of mature fruits, including jams (plums and bilberries), overlaying truffle and bay leaf aromas. The palate is ample and generous, with excellent sweet tannins that open out to fruit-laden nuances reminiscent of the nose. As the wine reaches chambré temperatures it exudes rich hints of leather and vanillin that evolve towards a sensuous and persistent, long finish.

I must say that, since two years ago, price-quality ratio, this is one of my favourite wines. Actually it has received a very important award that confirms this impression: it is the wine number 34 in a ranking of top 100 wines of the world according to wine spectator's 100 top of the world (elaborated tastint 19500 wines of the world!). In addition, it is the first spanish wine in this ranking. You can download the whole international ranking here. Worth to mention that the high value of the Euro when compared with dollars, probably, has penalized the european wines (for instance, San Román 2004 is in position 36. In fact, San Román is really an outstanding wine, one of the best wines that I have ever tasted, but it is around two times more expensive than condado de Haza and it is ranked below)

I must say that this is one of my favourite cellars in Ribera del Duero. This one is simply OUTSTANDING! Worth to taste it! You won't feel the 14º alcoholic degrees. Very nice "body" and flavour.
If you want to spend less money, try the also outstanding primicia.

I received three bottles of this wine, and they were not the same. May be it was my body who was different each day, who knows, but this annoying experience never happens with some wines.
This wine is very aromathic, may be too much perfume. Anyway, it does not have too much body (although they claim in the label that it is "carnoso"). I enjoyed with the first bottle. The second one was not good enough and third one was reasonably good.
The most awful thing is the label, that should be discontinued immediately. It reminds me the "classical" label used to post letters. In addition, the design inside the label is not very nice...

This is a very good mineral water that since one year and a half (I saw it for first time in summer'2007) it comes in a very nice blue glass bottle. Congratulations for the design!
Another history is the resort (balneario), including the restaurant, and the factory (both of them very close to each other). I have been there precisely in summer 2007 and there is only one word to define the place: "cutre"

This is another Pedro Ximenez sweet wine with an outstanding quality/price ratio. It costs 6,7 EUR. A nice thing is that you won't feel it very alcoholic.
