Jameson Dark chocolate bar

Jameson Dark chocolate bar
This is another dark cholocate with Whiskey. In my opinion, it is not as good as the previous ones that I have already commented. In fact, it had a strange taste...

Jameson Iris coffee bar

Jameson Iris coffee bar

This is a very good taste dark chocolate. Nevertheless, the price is not competitive (around 2 EUR in normal shops and 2.45 EUR at Jameson old distillery, for 64 grams!).

Butlers Jameson Irish whiskey truffle

Butlers Jameson Irish whiskey truffle

This is a good truffle with Jameson Whiskey. Nevertheless, I prefer the jameson irish coffee dark chocolate (see next post).

The old jameson distillery bar (2/2)

The old jameson distillery bar
Bow street, smithfield, Dublin

I tasted hot chocolate with Jameson. Unfortunatey, it was not the kind of chocolate that I was expecting. It was a kind of "cola-cao". Next time I will taste the irish coffee...

The old Jameson distillery whiskey tasting

The old Jameson distillery whiskey tasting

The regular tour includes a sample of Jameson. In addition, they ask for 8 volunteers. Fortunately, I was among them. If you are not selected, you can take part in this tasting paying and additional fee of 8.5 EUR (or something like this).
For this price you taste three different whiskeys:
  • Johny walker 12 years (Scotish)
  • Jameson (Irish)
  • Jack Daniels (American)
Of course, I selected Jameson. It was the smoothest one, I like it, and I do not like too much the other ones. Another history would be if the american selected one were Four roses (yes, I know that Jack Daniels is more expensive, but I prefer four roses) or a single malt scotish whiskey, which unfortunately is more expensive.
this is the best way to compare, the kind of tastings that I enjoy: several glasses in parallel :-)
Nevertheless, I prefer brandy/cognac/armagnac to whiskey

at the end you receive a diploma:

The old Jameson distillery

The old Jameson distillery
Bow street, smithfield, Dublin

This is a nice touristic attraction in Dublin. In my opinion, the guided visit is more interesting than the guiness one. If you do not plan to visit Dublin, you can follow the virtual tour. For instance, you will learn that irish whiskey is distilled three times, amerian bourbon two, and scotish whiskey is a single distillation one. Worth to visit!

Maloti

Maloti
34-35 south william street, Dublin

This is an indian cuisine restaurant. It offers reasonable quality if you like indian restaurants. Nevertheless, the place was fully crowded and this was really annoying. We drank some wine from Chile.

Dark chocolate flavoured with guiness

Dark chocolate flavoured with guiness

This is much better than the previous product post. Nevetheless I think that it is not possible to feel that it contains guiness. This is not surprising considering that the amount of guiness is 0.1%
thus, it is only a commercial strategy.

Luxury Fudge bar Guiness

Luxury Fudge bar Guiness

This is a strange product that contains a small amount of guiness (0.5%) and a large amount of sugar. I didn't liked it.

Guiness ad

Guiness ad
It is said now that guiness is good for you, but I remember that in the past it was a stronger assertion: "guiness is good for health". Unfortunately, I couldn't find and ad with this orginal lemma. Nevertheless I found a great dedicated poster by Mike Oldfield.

Gravity bar

Gravity bar

this is an outstanding 360º sightseeing point of Dublin, just at the end of the touristic visit to Guiness. A pint of guiness is included with the regular entrance fee.

Guiness storehouse

Guiness storehouse
St. Jame's Gate, Dublin

This is a hughe fabric of the well-known beer with a visitor center. A must for beer lovers. Although the visit is not as great as I expected, at the end you reach the gravity bar (see next post), which really worths the visit.

Kilbeggan

Kilbeggan

This is Irish whiskey. In my opinion it is more smoked than jameson. Thus, it is more scottish style. I prefer Jameson, which is smoother.

Murrays

Bar Murrays
33/34 Upper O'Connell Street, Dublin

it seems that this place is great for football. They have a large amount of screens in the second floor. Nevertheless, for lunch time, the second floor is closed.
About the meal this is another history. Although reasonable price, this is just a meal to feed you.

You choose your meal here:

Branningan's
Cathedral Street, Dublin

If you go to Dublin and you try to follow the recommendations provided here you will realize that, at least, it is impossible to find three of the recommended places. The motivation is that they have changed the name.
They are:
  • John M Keating -> The Churh
  • The Goalpost -> Brannigan's
  • Frasiers -> Murrays
This post is devoted to the second place. Although I didn't tasted the meals of this place, I can point out that the decoration is not related to football shirts any more. It is much better: film advertisements, as you can see below.

Deep riverrock

Deep River Rock is the brand name given to water produced by Coca Cola Bottlers Ulster Ltd. How deep to they take this water?...
Anyway, a funny advertisement: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F4bditAL9uo
