Ke'm d Fer

Ke'm d Fer
C/ Baró D'eroles, 4, Lleida

My good friend Borja M. suggested this place as an alternative to Zeke.
Although this place is more comfortable and larger, I feel that the quality of Zeke is higher. However Zeke is always full and it is not too large. Thus, certainly, it can be an alternative.
They have a very large, reasonably priced and extremely well selected list of wines, gins, etc. In our case we drank a Cruor for 23,5 eur + VAT, which is a good price for this outstanding wine.

patatas bravas: good taste but too much oil...
This "calabacin" flowers with feta cheese were nice but below the expentancy. In addition, the cheese doesn't taste like feta cheese, because feta cheese is quite salted. I guess it was just fresh cheese.

eggs with foie and mushrooms: nice quality

cecina with cheese: nice amount and quality, although this is not the cheese cuted like flowers with strong taste that I really enjoy. This one is smoother.
bombas; quite tasteless and warmed with a microwave oven:
outstanding home-made crocant icecream served at very good temperature (not too much frozen)

nice icecream:
Good gintonics, with a large selection of high quality gins

Casa Augusto

Casa Augusto
passeig de Ronda 145, Lleida

it is mainly the same than the past Rokelin (click to see the previous post devoted to Rokelin Lleida): same owner, waiters, products, but there is a very important exception: they do not have "untico" any more. :-(

Cal Xirricló

Cal Xirricló
C/ Dr. Fleming 53, Balaguer, Lleida

They offer a fixed price lunch menu for 15 eur. Although the restaurant and the cutlery is nice, the cuisine is not as high as I expected. Definitely, it is not the substitute of Cal Morell, and Carmen (Tamarit de Llitera) offers much better quality/price ratio. Even the house wine quality is higher in Carmen.

Rokelin

Rokelin
Passeig de Ronda 145, Lleida

This is a franchise from Teruel, where you can get some good tapas for a resonably good price. Worth to visit! Unfortunately, they do not have any restaurant in Barcelona.

Unfortunately the Lleida restaurant is not like the "taberna Rokelin" of teruel. You will not receive any tapa for free when you order a drink. nevertheless, there are other Rokelins in Teruel where you won't receive any tapa with your drink. At least, in this one, you will receive very good olives for free:

the outstanding "untico". Reasonable amount of untico:
a sample of three dishes, including "setas con foie"

toasted bread with olive oil and tomato:
reasonably good ham and nice quantity:
toast with olive paté, tunna and carrods:
potatoes with ham and eggs:

Vino Tinto, Lleida (2/2)

This is the second post devoted to Vino Tinto Lleida.
About the place: it has the same design than in other cities, but this one is larger, which is very good. Unfortunately, you cannot rest the back in the wall (as you can do in Barcelona, in some seats), which is quite uncomfortable.
Unfortunately, when you order a glass of wine, they put the wine in the glass of water. That is, in the small glass. This is a big error!
They have some local wines from Costers del Segre, which is good. Unfortunately, the pricing system is not as easy as in Barcelona or Valladolid (young red, matured red, white or rosé). They have, mainly, a different price for each wine.
At the end of this post you will find the menu. Please, click to enlarge the images.

This is the "real" glass for wine. If you order the whole bottle you will be able to use this glass. Otherwise, you will receive the smallest one.

Vino Tinto, Lleida (1/2)

Vino Tinto
C/ Alfred Pereña 7, Lleida

Vino tinto is a kind of franchise with several restaurants around the world. This is the first post devoted to Vino Tinto, Lleida. A funy thing is that it is in Alfred Pereña street, which is the next street of Aribau (In Barcelona, it is in Aribau street).
The place is lively and it seems quite successful. Anyway, in my opinion, it does not ofer the same level of Vino Tinto in Valladolid or Barcelona. A nice thing is that they provide "arroz a la zamorana", which is missing from the menu in Barcelona. The quality of "huevos rotos" is quite good, but they provide a very reduced amount, in a small pan.
