Cruor 2005

Cruor 2005

This is a DO Priorat wine. I have been able to taste it thanks to my good friend and wine-lover Jorge C. it deserves de OUTSTANDING score. The unique thing you need to do is to open it one hour in advance in order to oxigenate and to develope all its potential. Its price is around 20 eur per bottle. Worth to taste. This is a very clear example about the quality of Priorat wines, which are over all the other DO.
Cruor is really balanced, with a very very nice postaste and flavour. Worth to taste it!

Varietals: Garnatxa(30%), Cabernet Sauvignon(30%), Merlot(20%), Cabernet Franc(10%), Syrah(10%).

Wine making: Macerated during15-22 days. Fermented at a controlled temperature of 28-32ºC, depending on the different varietals. The wine was pumped over twice a day.

Ageing: Fourteen months in French oak barrels (50% new, 50% second wine).

The unique "minor" complains: they should improve the label and even the cork, which should be longer than it is. For me it is a pleasure to open a bottle and to find a very long cork...
